Jakobs Weg ist mit Sicherheit nichts für jeden Menschen. Die meisten Menschen wollen viel mehr Geld ausgeben und könnten sich nicht mal annähernd vorstellen von einer solchen Summe im Jahr leben zu können. Meiner Meinung nach ist es ein sehr inspirierendes Buch, das Dir vor Augen hält, dass viele Vorstellungen und Lebenswege einfach ungefragt von der Gesellschaft übernommen werden. Es zeigt auf, dass es auch ganz anders geht und Du bereits in fünf Jahren in Rente gehen könntest. Egal wie viel Geld Du aktuell verdienst.
I found that book through a recommendation from Jake Desyllas of thevoluntarylife podcast. I have already read a lot about all the early retirement and becoming financially independent advises out there. And implemented most of them. However, this book goes further. It is not a detailed action plan, but a philosophical introduction to another (I mean better) way of living - for yourself and the society. I recommend that book to everybody - especially to graduates and career starters. The earlier you read this book the sooner your real live can start!

Eine spannende Lektüre, die einem viele Ansätze zur Veränderung der eigenen Lebenssituation bieten kann. Die Texte sind streckenweise stark konzeptionell und theoriebezogen. Man kann auch den Eindruck gewinnen, dass das Absicht ist um den Leser zum Nach- und Durchdenken zu zwingen.
Ein Mind-opener, durch unsere Bürokratie , Staatsbevormundung und z.B auch den ganzen Pflichtversicherungen in Deutschland aber schwer umsetzbar. Oder vielleicht doch?
Für alle ERE Fans ein muss. Wer sein Leben ändern möchte ist mit dem Buch gut versorgt. Unabhängig und Frei sein ist unser Ziel!
This is a very interesting book. It is mostly the views of the author about the world, he spend most of the chapters describing his anti-consumerist. His opinions could be considered quite personal, but are relevant because they are uncommon and his arguments are highly-educated.The author got a PhD in physics, and that is patent in the book (his mathematical approach, clear and systematic exposition of arguments, the use of LaTeX, etc.).I personally find amazing the chapter about the financial aspects, I wish it would have been larger. His equations (just a few, do not be worried about them) are incontestable and make you think about how realistic is to export his way of life to other persons. I am really impressed.I very much recommend this book. It makes you think and change the way that we behave.
The concept of being a Renaissance man is well describe in the book. Some think might come extreme to many and other are mostly common sense (at least for me). The along the book the research can get a bit tired​ of the formulae and, sometimes, a bit excessive science still of the writing. However it is obviously the footprint of the writer given his background. Personally i find it really good but as well i have similar background. Recommended for all how want to have an strategy to get to early retirement.
